Thompson Innovative Glass operates out of 62,000 square foot facility in Fenton, Michigan. Thompson is a qualified fabricator for both Guardian and Vitro as well and is certified by the Insulating Glass Certification Council.
Preparing - Cutting, Edging, Washing & Machining Thompson has three Computer Numeric Controlled (“CNC”) cutting lines with real-time production and inventory tracking that are able to cut windows that are up to 108” x 144” and 2.0 – 30.0 mm thick. Large sheets of glass are removed from inventory storage racks and moved to the glass cutters via overhead cranes. Tempering/Heat-strengthening Thompson has a two chamber furnace that can temper glass up to 72” x 140” and 3.0mm – 25.0mm. TIG also has a 78" inline Lisec washer to clean off any contaminates that may have gotten on to the glass from other processes. At Thompson our furnace uses the latest convection heat methods to achieve minimal distortion and to exceed ASTM Standard Specification C1048. You can order tempered glass from 1/8" up to 1/2" thick. Laminating Thompson’s autoclave is able to make glass laminates up to 72” x 140” and is also capable of making multi-layer and hurricane glass. Insulated Glass Units Thompson's metal spacer insulating glass line has real-time production control and can make IGUs up to 78” x 140”, has dual-seal silicone, and uses argon gas.
