We’re proud to announce that Thompson Innovative Glass has been recognized as a winner in the Guardian Glass Commercial Project Awards for our work on the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Newberry Customer Service Center in Newberry, Michigan.
This project is a standout example of how thoughtful design and advanced glazing solutions can come together to create something truly special. Featuring Guardian SunGuard® SN 68 with Bird1st™ Etch on clear glass, the building balances performance, transparency, and environmental responsibility—helping bring the architect’s vision to life.
Designed by Lord Aeck Sargent and installed by Calvin & Company, Inc., this project highlights the power of collaboration across the entire project team.
Judges praised the project for its striking aesthetic and sustainable approach, noting “the mass timber + glass façade is exquisite… transparent and warm and truly stands out,” and applauding the prioritization of advanced glazing and environmental stewardship in a government facility.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Guardian Glass for this recognition and for the collaboration that made this project a success,” said Lorne Flaig, VP of Customer & Supplier Services of Thompson Innovative Glass. “Awards like this reflect the dedication of our entire team. From operations to production to project management, it takes everyone working together to deliver at this level.”
We’re honored to be part of a project that not only delivers on performance and design, but also contributes to a more sustainable built environment.
Congratulations to all of this year’s winners and nominees—we’re proud to be among such outstanding company.
